137 . . .
pairs of socks I would need to knit before I emptied the sock yarn stash. And, more is on the way. Do I have a problem?

Blocked!!!
I have finally completed the finishing touches on my Mystery Stole. And, while I'm not totally loving the whole "wing thing," I do love how this thing turned out. This is the first actual lace project I've finished. You know, with blocking and all those other finishing touches. It's so amazing how lace transforms with blocking.
Pattern: Mystery Stole 3
Yarn: Zephyr Wool Silk in Vanilla (best guess would be about 700 - 800 yards -- didn't come close to using the 1200 yards suggested)
Needles: US 2s
Measurements: 74 X 18
Started: June 29, 2007
Finished: October 19, 2007 (blocked and everything)
Other Details: I used size 8 seed beads from the Beadwrangler in color #111

Sweater Number Two
I've started another sweater. It's in the Vogue Knitting Magazine Holiday 2006. I will wear it with the collar folded down like this. I purchased 19 skeins of Elann Highland Chunky in the Forest Glade Heather colorway. It is so beautiful. There is such a rich mixture of colors. Green, of course, but also blue and gold. I'm in love with it. I've finished the back, the left front and just cast on for one of the sleeves. I needed a break from the fronts because the front is knit with two needles (two different sizes) with one side double-stranded. It can be pretty challenging to knit this way because you never (or at least I can't) get into a smooth rhythm. I'm hoping to finish it in time for my trip to Italy. This time I was lead astray by Melanie. Of course, I went willingly. I've got several other projects finished and I'll try to take pictures later tonight to share tomorrow.

Sometimes . . .
you wake up to a delicious surprise. Today was like that. I received my Ravelry invite!!! I have been waiting patiently for it to arrive. Patience is definitely not one of my strengths. But, the wait is over. And, while I am sure there are many things more delicious to wake up too, this was a pretty great surprise. I feel so special now. :-)
